Oxfordshire breach their own guidelines
|
In granting permission, OCC have breached their own guidelines. We know that OCC Officers missed out valid objections from various parties, apart from the 3600 people who objected. It seems the public doesn't count. Only big business counts. What encouraged the Officers to make such a travesty of a report is unknown but we can guess.

to destroy part of a CWS The Officers have decided that NPower have a NEED - Well so do the local populace. We need our open spaces and the fight went all the way to the European Parliament. |

Public Enquiry |
OCC arranged for a Public Inquiry following an application to have the area classified as a Town or Village Green. This was held between the 2nd and 5th April 2007, at Radley College in the New Pavilion. At the closing date for objections, (17th February 2007) two objections had been received, along with eighteen letters of support. The letters of support are not admissible, because Oxfordshire County Council only wanted to hear of objections. The Town Green Application was backed by an initial 86 people who supported the application. Click here for details The Inquiry was adjourned on the 5th April until the 20th June 2007 and the Inspector's report was eventually received in October 2007, but failed to grant Town Green Status to the area. Oxfordshire County Council endorsed the Inspector's report and a Judicial Review of the process was sought by Radley Parish Council. This Judicial Review was subsequently withdrawn when NPower gave assurances to the Parish Council that they would never use the area for future ash disposal. and appointed Northmoor Trust to manage the area on their behalf. |
