4th working Party
at Thrupp Lake

After a cloudy start with a bit of heavy rain, the work party enjoyed a gorgeous sunny day to help Northmoor Trust with their continuing site maintenance. Northmoor Trust's Alexis Pym, Director of Land, Learning and Engagement came out to meet some of the people involved in the work party.
A well-earned lunch break.
Paths were cleared of nettles and brambles inside the site, and a start was made on the brambles outside on the BOAT to enable contractors to start work repairing the fence that has fallen into a bad state of repair. A post and rail fence is going to be installed, which will make it possible to see inside the gardens of Sandles and make it more welcoming in the future for visitors.
A start on a new shelter, which was delayed because of planning permission requirements, is scheduled for the 4th August.

Meet outside gate at Sandles building at 10.00. on site from 10.00am
until 3.00pm - you can come for an hour or more, or the whole day if you
wish.
Tools will be provided but please wear appropriate clothing and bring
a packed lunch if you would like to stay for the whole day.
Unfortunately, there are currently no toilet facilities at Thrupp Lake.

So, if you feel like a bit of fresh air and exercise with good convivial
company and in beautiful surroundings, this is the place to come.
Even if you are not very physically active, there will be small jobs which
can be undertaken to lend a hand and the help every volunteer brings is
very much appreciated.
